I-cord tusks and a broad intarsia mustache are just two of the adorable features that in form Bahrt’s chummy walrus combo. The walrus becomes himself when you add details like chain-stitch embroidery along the color-change row. A stuffed bobble nose and button eyes increase the merriment.

MATERIALS
Pacific by Cascade Yarns, 3½oz/100g skeins, each approx 213yd/195m (acrylic/wool)
HAT
• 1 skein each in #46 lapis (blue A) and #1 cream (B)
• Small amounts each in #36 christmas red (C) and #13 gold (D)
• One pair each sizes 5 and 7 (3.75 and 4.5mm) needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Two sizes 7 (4.5mm) double-pointed needles (dpn)
• Two ½”/13mm buttons
• Polyester stuffing, bobbins
MITTENS
• 1 skein in #46 lapis (blue A)
• Small amounts each in #1 cream(B), #36 christmas red (C) and #13 gold (D)
• One pair each sizes 5 and 7 (3.75 and 4.5mm) needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Two sizes 7 (4.5mm) double-pointed needles (dpn)
• Four ³⁄8“/10mm buttons
• Polyester stuffing, scrap yarn
Note that leftover yarn from pattern #33 is sufficient to complete this project.
