There is power in numbers. Laura Zander of Jimmy Beans Wool approached us at the June 2011 TNNA tradeshow with an ambitious idea: to launch an industry-wide initiative committed to raising awareness of heart disease in women. Here we are, just 12 months later, and Stitch Red is in full swing!

Like many Americans, almost all of us here at Classic Elite Yarns have been touched by heart disease, and we jumped at the chance to participate. Until June 30, 2013, we are proud to donate 5% of the profits from three of our purest red colorways to the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health in support of The Heart Truth®: Magnolia in #5458 Ruby, Alpaca Sox in #1832 Cereza, and Silky Alpaca Lace in #2432 Garnet.

We are joined by some of the biggest names in the craft industry including Sixth&Spring Books, the publisher behind the bestselling book Knit Red, a collection of 30 red garment and accessory patterns and personal stories from celebrity designers around the world. In this eBook, members of the CEY team share their own personal experiences and insights alongside free patterns designed in our Stitch Red yarns, including a completely new pattern in Silky Alpaca Lace.
