The solid portion of Wilkins’s swingy capelet, crocheted in Taiyo Lace colorway #28, is formed by a wide, short band worked flat in a cluster-stitch pattern. The ends are fastened at the lower back with hook-and-eye closures, forming an open-back bolero; the lace cape is worked down from the center back in picot lace mesh.

MATERIALS
• 2 skeins of Noro Taiyo Lace in #28
• Sizes B/1, C/2, D/3 and F/5 (2.25, 2.75, 3.25, 3.75mm) crochet hooks, OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• 4 sets of ⅝”/16mm hook and eye closures
• 11 removable stitch markers: 1 in one color and 10 in a different color

Sized for Small/Medium (Large/X-Large) and shown in size Small/Medium.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
• Circumference of band 60″/152.5cm
• Back length 20 (21)”/51 (53.5)cm

GAUGE
14 (3-dc cluster, ch1) and 20 rows = 4″/10cm over band pat using size B/1 (2.25mm) hook.
