The gloves are knit circularly from stitches picked up along one edge of the wristband. Worked in the round, the Churchill Downs-worthy riding cap is crowned with a knit “button”.

MATERIALS
• 1 ball in #153 Ebony of Lion Wool by Lion Brand Yarn, 3oz/85g balls, each approx 158yd/144m (wool)
• One size 10 (6mm) circular needle, 24″/60cm length OR SIZE TO GET THE GAUGE
• One set (5) size 10 (6mm) double-pointed needles (dpns)
• 12″/30.5cm of ¾”/19mm black grosgrain ribbon, two 5/8“/15mm black leather shank buttons, 1 small flat button for center of bow, black thread and sewing needle

GAUGE
• 12 sts and 16 rows to 4″/10cm over St st in the round.

• 1 skein each in #2229 Red and #2400 Black of KPM by Koigu Wool Designs, 1¾z/50g skeins, each approx 175yd/160m (merino wool)
One set (5) size 2 (2.75mm) double-pointed needles OR SIZE TO GET THE GAUGE
