The interesting banded effect of this delicate cardi comes from interspersing a few rows of stockinette amid the easy lace pattern. Garter-stitch borders—picked up and knit in finishing—structure the piece prettily.

Pearl by Lorna’s Laces, 3½oz/100g hanks, each approx 220yd/201m (silk/bamboo)
• 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7) hanks in periwinkle
• One pair each size 5 (3.75mm) needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• One size 5 (3.75mm) circular needle, 32″/81cm long
• Four ³⁄8“/1cm buttons by La Mode #37389
• Stitch markers, stitch holders
