The piece begins at the Latvian double-braid band; the koi itself is worked in duplicate stitch and crochet chain embroidery on a stockinette background.

• 1 each 3½oz/100g hank (each approx 220yds/201m) of Cascade Yarns Cascade 220 (100% Peruvian highland wool) in #8891 teal (MC), #8892 dark teal (A), #7824 orange (B), #7826 goldenrod (C), #9463B yellow (D), #8884 maroon (E), #9422 berry (F)
• One each size 1 and 3 (2.25 and 3.25mm) circular needle, 16″/40cm long OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Small amount of white worsted weight yarn for eye
• Small amounts 6-strand DMC embroidery floss in #349 brick and #728 gold
• Size 1.7mm crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• 3 Stitch markers

• Sized for adult woman.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
• Circumference 20¾”/51cm
• Length 8″/20.5cm

GAUGE
• 23 sts and 33 rnds to 4″/10cm, over St st using size 3 (3.25mm) needle.
