Worked in graduated sizes of shell stitch from the single-crochet waist down, the yarn used to make this skirt gives a checkerboard effect.

• 13 (14, 15) skeins each in #153 Black (A) and #100 White (B) in Wool-Ease by Lion Brand, 3oz/85g skeins, each approx 197yd/180m (acrylic/wool)
• Sizes G-6 and J-10 (4 and 6mm) crochet hooks OR SIZE TO GET GAUGE
• Invisible zipper 6″/15.5cm long and black elastic thread (optional)

GAUGES

• 2 reps to 3″/7.5cm and 8 rows to 4″/10cm over shell pat 2 using larger hook.
• 2 reps and 8 rows to 4″/10cm over shell pat 3 using larger hook.
