Knit Simple Holiday 2010 #32, 33 and 34

A friendly teddy, worked in stockinette stitch pieces and sewn together, has stuffed legs and ears, store-bought eyes and nose, and an embroidered smile. The adorable insect is embellished with duplicate-stitch spots and I-cord antennae topped with little shaped balls. The turtle’s belly is knit in stockinette, but its shell is worked in a knit/purl checkerboard pattern.

Homespun by Lion Brand Yarn, 6oz/170g skeins, each approx 185yd/169m (acrylic/polyester)
• 1 skein in #368 montana sky (MC blue)
• 1 skein in #403 earth (CC brown)
• One pair size 6 (4mm) needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Two 1¼ “/32mm buttons
• Two smaller buttons
• 2 animal eyes 20mm
• 1 animal nose 20mm
• Small amount of black yarn for mouth
• Yarn needle, sewing needle and thread
• Polyester stuffing

• Approximately 8 x 10″/20.5 x 25.5cm

• 14 sts and 22 rows to 4″/10cm over St st using size 6 (4mm) needles.
