The dropped stitches on this short-sleeve cardi—knit flat in one piece from the top down—are used sparingly as a textural yoke detail. The self-contained openwork comes from dropping a double yarn over on the very next round.

Savanna by Zitron/Skacel Collection, 1¾oz/50g balls, each approx 109yd/100m (cotton/linen/viscose)
• 6 (8, 9, 10, 11) balls in #19 wheat
• One each size 4 (3.5mm) circular needle, 16 and 24″/40 and 60cm long
• One each size 5 (3.75mm) circular needle, 16 and 32″/40 and 80cm long OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Stitch holders
• Stitch markers
• 3 ¹¹⁄16“/18mm buttons
