Vogue Knitting Winter 1997/98 #1

Softer than a suit jacket yet quite sophisticated, this tweedy angora-blend cardigan is an easy knit in a modified rib stitch. The Tweedy Cardigan first appeared in the Fall/Winter 1958 issue of the original Vogue Knitting magazine.

• 7 (8, 8, 9, 10) 1≥oz/50g balls (each approx 140yds/135m) of Tahki•Stacy Charles, Inc. Sable (wool/angora) in #1617 grey tweed
Note The above yarn has been discontinued. We recommend a worsted weight yarn.
• One pair each sizes 5 and 8 (3.75 and 5mm) needles, OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Stitch holders
• Seven ⅞”/20mm buttons

To fit X-Small (Small, Medium, Large, X-Large). Shown in size Medium. Directions are for smallest size with larger sizes in parentheses. If there is only one figure, it applies to all sizes.

GAUGE
19 sts and 26 rows to 4″/10cm over pat st using size 8 (5mm) needles.
