This soft scarlet shawl is merely a massive garter-stitch rectangle with I-cord trim that’s hung in loops and fringed. If you’re purl-averse, take note:When you use such a dramatic yarn in a sumptuous color, all you have to do is knit.

Difficulty level

MATERIALS
• 6 hanks in La Pampa by Aslan Trends, 3½oz/100g hanks, each approx 109yd/100m (merino wool/mohair) in #2979 scarlet (MC) and 1 hank in #54 plum (CC)
• One pair size 13 (9mm) needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Two size 13 (9mm) dpn (for I-cord)
• Tapestry needle

KNITTED MEASUREMENTS
• One size.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
• 26″ x 75″/66 x 190cm

GAUGE
• 8 sts and 8 rows to 4″/10cm over garter st using size 13 (9mm) needles.
