The horizontally knit cable band is divided by two oval cables that are used for the ear flaps. The crown is picked up along the edge of this band and worked in three sections.

• 2 3½oz/100g hanks (each approx 145yd/136m) of Alpaca With a Twist Highlander (alpaca/ wool/microfiber/viscose) in #3015 hebrides rose
• One pair size 8 (5mm) needles, OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Cable needle
• One 1″/25mm button
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Finished hat at horizontal edge:
• approx 21″/53.5cm (slightly stretched)
GAUGE
18 sts and 26 rows = 4″/10cm over St st using size 8 (5mm) needles.
