Borrowing the same intarsia motifs from the blanket, a singular hedgehog sniffs her way along the front of this hat, appearing again on the scarf, where she’s met by a mushroom. Simple edges—k1, p1 ribbing for the hat and garter stitch for the scarf—frame this set’s whimsical tableau.

220 Superwash by Cascade Yarns, 3½oz/100g balls, each approx 220yd/200m (superwash wool)

• 1 ball each in #888 sage (A), #886 citron (B), #819 chocolate (C), #817 aran (D) and #809 really red (E)
• One pair each sizes 5 and 7 (3.75 and 4.5mm) needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Size G/6 (4mm) crochet hook
Scarf
• 1 ball each in #888 sage (A), #886 citron (B), #819 chocolate (C), #817 aran (D) and #809 really red (E)
• One pair size 7 (4.5mm) needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Size G/6 (4mm) crochet hook
