This purse has a ribbed trim that contrasts its felted body, worked in the round after stitches are picked up from a flat knit base. The cuff is sewn into place, as are the purchased handles and snap closure.

Wool Clasica by Manos del Uruguay/Fairmount Fibers, Inc., 3½oz/100g hanks, each approx 138yd/126m (wool)
• 2 hanks in #116 blue/green multi (A)
• 1 hank in #68 olive green (B)
• One each sizes 11 and 13 (8 and 9mm) circular needles, 16″/40cm long OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• One pair plastic purse handles

• Plastic needlepoint canvas or heavy cardboard (for base stiffener)
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
• Width before felting 10″/25.5cm; after felting 9″/23cm
• Length before felting 13″/33cm; after felting 7″/18cm
• Depth before felting 4″/10cm; after felting 3½”/9cm
GAUGE
13 sts and 18 rnds to 4″/10cm over St st using size 11 (8mm) needle before felting.
