A half-dozen colors in myriad arrangements create the eighty-six tri-toned hexagons that give the classic granny square afghan an updated look. Each hexagon is worked in rounds of double-crochet clusters, which in turn are joined in strips with single crochet.

Encore Worsted by Plymouth Yarn, 3½oz/100g skeins, each approx 200yd/183m (wool)
• 3 skeins each in #450 pale green (A), #1317 teal (B), #3335 lime green (C), #133 royal blue (D), #54 kelly green (E), #515 denim blue (F), #451 leaf green (G) and #1201 pale blue (H)
• Sizes H/8 (5mm) crochet hook OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
