A bicolor basketweave pattern is a winning choice for this close-fitting cap knit in the round. Though we use contrasting hues here, you can make a quieter version by choosing two tonal shades.

Softknit Cotton by Rowan Yarns, 1¾oz/50g balls, each approx 115yd/105m (cotton/polyamide)
• 1 ball each in #582 sunset red (MC) and #579 dark lime (CC)
• One each sizes 6 and 7 (4mm and 4.5mm) circular needles, 16″/40cm long OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• One set (5) size 7 (4.5mm) double-pointed needles (dpn)

• Head circumference 18¼”/46.5cm
• Length 7½”/19cm
GAUGE
21 sts and 34 rnds to 4″/10cm over checkerboard pat using size 7 (4.5mm) needles.
