One look at the way the intarsia pattern flows from one earthen tone to the next, and it’s easy to understand why Brandon Mably calls his boxy pullover “Lava.” Banded ribbing at the edges and fold-back turtleneck define the oversized body.

• 7 (8, 9, 10, 11) balls in #19 peat (B)
• 2 (3, 3, 3, 3) balls each in #9 rust (C), #16 thistle (D) and #17 lobster (E)
• 4 (5, 5, 6, 6) balls in #13 claret (F)
• One pair each sizes 3 and 6 (3.25 and 4mm) needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• One size 3 (3.25mm) circular needles, 12"/30.5cm length
