Braided cables begin at the cast-on edge of Heather Carlson’s bell-sleeved V-neck cardi, forcing the textured hem. The yoke is knit in plain stockinette and secured with simple chain-stitch ties.

• 7 (8, 10, 11, 13, 14) 1¾oz/50g balls (each approx 130yd/ 119m) of Classic Elite Charmed (cashmere/mohair) in #76708 heathered rose
• One size 8 (5mm) circular needle, 24"/60cm length

• One size D-3 (3.25mm) crochet hook
