Aran knitting takes a twist for the unexpected when it shows up on slipper socks in Cashmerino Aran. They’re worked flat from the cuff down with classic Aran cables above the knitted-in welt that defines the foot. To add durability, leather soles are stitched on.

MATERIALS
• 4 (5) 50g/1¾oz balls (each approx 90m/98yd) of Debbie Bliss/KFI Cashmerino Aran (merino wool/microfibre/cashmere) in Silver 27
• Pair each 4.50mm (US 7) and 5mm (US 8) knitting needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN TENSION
• Cable needle
• Leather or thick felt for soles
• Sewing thread and needle

KNITTED MEASUREMENTS
• Sized for Small (and Medium) to fit UK 3 to 4 (5 to 6)/US 5.5 to 6.5 (7.5 to 8.5) shoe size.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
• Height from base of heel 23 (25)cm/9 (10)in.

TENSION
• 17 sts and 30 rows to 10cm/4in square over garter st on 4.50mm (US 7) needles.
TAKE TIME TO CHECK TENSION.
