Strips of garter and stockinette stitches alternate in a simple dishcloth in new Eco cotton. Knitting this pattern several times is a great way for beginning knitters to get up to speed on their craft, the reward is lovely: a stack of soft and inviting kitchen towels.

MATERIALS
• One 50g/1¾oz ball (each approx 90m/100yds) of Debbie Bliss/KFI Eco (organic cotton) in Ecru 608
• Pair 4.50mm (US 5) knitting needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN TENSION

KNITTED MEASUREMENTS
• One size.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
• Approximately 19 x 24cm/7½ x 9½in

TENSION
• 21 sts and 38 rows to 10cm/4in square over garter st using 4mm (US 6) needles.
